Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to my Mom,
She really is the bomb!
Her heart and her womb gave life,
all while being a wonderful wife.
She taught us to accept all,
and get back up after a fall.
She's always good for a laugh,
in our house she's the chief of staff.
It's a day to celebrate her,
for being a maid, teacher, and chauffeur!
Our mom...always giving lots of love,
our mom...someone we are proud of!

Happy Birthday Great Aunt Jean
Happy Birthday to my Great Aunt Jean!
She passed away in August after a short illness. She is much loved and missed by all of our family.
We now spend each Saturday morning at her house going through her things...and of generations before her. We usually sit for an hour and chat (what the Hazlewood women do best) and then get to work. I don't think Aunt Jean minds....the most important thing to her was keeping family together and she left us the opportunity to get together each weekend. We had a family pot luck last weekend after we were done working.....not all the family was there, but I think it was a good way for us to celebrate her birthday.
There will never be another Great Aunt Jean, and that's ok....she was a one of a kind. Because of her I know the names of flowers, appreciate education, love jewelry, and save way too much!
I'm attempting to upload a video of her...but here is a photo for the meantime.

A day of Kids
We were awaken to the sweet sounds of young children at 5 am.....Thank God their momma was also here to be awake with them until Kels and I got up. We enjoyed playing the iPad, chess, watching Pink Panther (even though we never actually saw him in the show), and just spending time together. We were honored to get handwritten Thank You notes.
After they left, we had a great time spending 1:1 time with our nephew Nolan. He's such a sweet boy! He enjoyed Mr. Potato Head, hiding things in beans, dancing with Uncle Kelsey and playing the iPad.....I'm always amazed how young children know how to manipulate the programs!
When Mom and the big boys are away....
to Laura and Kelsey's I go to play!!!

Thankful
First, I must say that I am VERY VERY thankful I have an occupation that closes down when the snow gets too deep! I'm thankful for the people who get to work to care for others.
I'm thankful for a husband who shares an occupation, so we can have a nice day at home.
I'm thankful for a snow blower that has a massive amount of horse power to shoot the snow far far far away from our property!
I'm thankful that we don't have neighbors so I can shoot the snow as far as I'd like!
I'm thankful for a new niece that was born today (good thing her mom and dad went to the hospital yesterday.)
I'm thankful for a house that is warm and turkey in the oven for dinner. Monkey bread is also on the agenda for tonight!
I'm thankful for the day to take down all my snow decorations and put up hearts for V-day! Maybe it was the snowman sitting out that brought all this snow!
I'm thankful I can sit at the computer and scrapbook for hours...it takes longer than you'd think :)
Enjoy!

Day of Acceptance
Today my staff at school celebrated with 3E Love.com and their International Day of Acceptance. As a sister, wife, friend and teacher of people with disabilities I'm all about accepting people for who they are.
Sister: Oh my wonderful brother who always has some witty comment and always sees the bright side to each day. My brother who is continually trying to plan trips, get together, tell random facts, and lame jokes. He has helped make me who I am today.
Teacher: As tired as I get working each day, I love my students and I love figuring out how to best teach them. I love seeing little progress each day that will someday be big progress.
Wife: We get great parking spots, to the front of the line at Disney, and we use the wheel chair to pass things to each other so we don't have to get off the couch :) In all seriousness, I love my hubby and his set of wheels.

Happy New Year
So as I take down the last of the Christmas decorations, I'm a little sad because now all we will get in the mail is bills, adds, and junk mail from random credit cards we don't own.
Thanks to everyone for sending a card....some weren't up when this photo was taken so don't get mad if you don't see your card :)
Heres to an awesome 2011!!
